Would you mind not smilie-spamming? It's hard on the eyes.

I know an awful lot of forums that have a limit on three-per-post because of this.

Haven't had a chance to work on them.  All I need to do is put it in Notepad and fix them.  Just haven't had the time.

DOWNLOAD

_Jets has all of them
_Thrust_Up has the small thrusters that control the down motion
_Thrust_Down has the small thrusters that control the up motion
_Thrust_LeftWing has the thrusters on the left wing
_Jets_LeftWing has the big three jets under the left wing
_Jets_Back has the big three jets on the rear of the bomber (main engines)

and so on.
Textures are more or less self explanatory.

Edit: the wing jets and the back jets have the same 2 textures. If it causes a problem or you can't retexture, give me a shout. Also, the geometry might be a bit weird. Not sure if it'll work as well as it does in my head.

EDIT: Re-uploaded it, apparently the file was erased after a while or something. It should work now.

I can send them in .lwo format, but I have a feeling you'll be able to do even less with that. Smiley
Tell me a format you can use and I'll see what I can do. I have a converter.

When he exports as .3ds, the UV map is lost.

3ds are usually triangulated, they are not much good for flames.
.obj works with single frames
convert to .x with 3dex and then to .xsi with x2xsi, open in notepad and correct the frame names, because they will now be wrong.

.obj is also quite universal from my experience. And I found it keeps the properties of my models better than .3ds.  .3ds really breaks the object, both geometry (with it's triangulation) and UV texture.

Ok, try this: DOWNLOAD I've tried a few formats. Curiously I found a few .X formats and an .XSI. Please tell me what works better so I'll know in the future.

Lightwave, is an intense 3d modeler, and compared to other modelers like MAX it actually cost less from what I've noticed. The last version I recall was 8. If I ever purchase a 3d modeler then Lightwave would be my first choice. It's a shame that LWO models can't be imported the way they were originally designed into other 3d modelers. TS, imports the format although I haven't imported any LWO models yet.

It's up to 9.6 now with rumors of 10 or Core coming out someday soon.
It does cost a lot less than Max or Maya (<$1000 vs $3000+) although I've seen some interesting deals on Max and Maya.
Indeed, the import/export part is the one that's giving people the most headaches, unfortunately.
It is used in a lot of TV shows though because it's fast and can produce acceptable results in a fraction of the time with a fraction of the people needed for other 3D packages because most LW users are generalists, not because they need, but because it's easy to master more of LW than Max/Maya. And if we go by the old saying "Time is Money" LW saves you twice: it's quick and you need to pay less people to get the job done.

Overall it's a very solid 3D modeling, animation, effects package that, at least for me, is easy to use and full of features. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it's Max, LW or notepad as long as it gets the job done. I say: "To each his own."

P.S. BNG Da BZ Fool, that was a refreshing post. Thank you!
P.S. II: It was an interesting period when Max and Maya were throwing punches at eachother as to which is the better, until Autodesk settled the dispute and bought both of them  evil. New 3D packages have started to emerge again (Rhino, Catia,  Modo, Mudbox, ZBrush which was quickly adopted because of it's awesomeness) and it's again becoming a turbulent, yet fun time to be around.

Lightwave's internal renderer.
