I was playing my Bz2 demo on my windows 98 computer yesterday completing the end of the demo. I want to continue playing the missions, so i wondered if I applyed the 1.3 patch to the demo, would it give me access to the full game? I have the install CD, but I lost it a while ago.

Would it work?

If I recall, the demo uses a different graphics engine than the actual game.  You'll have to find your CD, or buy a new copy.

It's more than the graphics engine, its a different engine altogether in most respects. Most of course i handled by the .exe, but you will be missing a LOT of assets from data.pak etc.

It actually can! You could copy it to the stick and run it straight off the memory stick if you wanted to. Always good to keep your bz2 in multiple places for that very reason.  grin

I have a zipped version of the game on my HD that I simply unpack when a new pb is released, works great. I do however not know if it would work if you havent actually installed the game before, so I would advise not to deinstall the game but just copy it over and delete the installed version.

There IS technically a free way. All you have to do is grab the XSI pack online, then handwrite every ODF for every object in the game, and make sure they are exactly the same as everybody else's if you want multiplayer. You can make it into a fun project and write scripts for the missions since you won't have them, and record voices for all the characters.

Starting to sound like a mod, isn't it?
