What you don't get is that online games don't need bandwidth,
they need a good ping and no packet loss.
This is a fact.
You can't simply blame bad gaming performance in BZ2
to the amount of bandwidth you have.
Wrong. If any dsl/cable connection was able to handle the bandwidth by bz2, this topic wouldn't have even been created.
The problem pointed out here is either related to a BZ2 bug or laggy player in the game not bandwidth (bw).
You can't point fingers and say theres a problem with your ISP in all cases (even if "WLAN or PC" isn't the factor). If they limit you to 512k upload and you're needing 1024k upload, that's your problem, not theirs (try upgrading or a different ISP)
That's the point you don't need that bw.
If they sold you a DSL line and gave you 56K up/down that would ba a problem with your ISP.
What's your idea of a good ping?
80-150 is good. Starts to get bad at 300+.
Some people around here live in largely populated cities, the other people in the city have an effect on your connection quality as well. I've seen DSL with pings of 300+ and 150+ jitter during the day. That should still be "somewhat tolerable" in BZII.
Problem with your ISP than. Normal connections have very stable pings.
Edit: also if you're doing a lot of download/upload in the background, expect to see lots of jitter.
Problem with your PC than. Shouldn't be doing any downloads (esp P2P) while playing.
Can kill your ping.
Wrong again. Not every resync is caused by a players bad connection. I don't have time at this very moment to go into further detail on this part.
Sure some resyncs might be caused by bugs in BZ2 for example, but
that is not a problem with your bw than.
