Pilots from destroyed units walk home to recycler and return 5 scrap. However, they have a lifespan of something like 300m (or was it in seconds?). So, if they have to walk a longer distance, they never make it to the recycler and disappear.

That must be it, I usually set it to 60sec so hardly ever get pilots back at the recy, next to that I pretty much always have 2 or so scavs roaming around ..

I often do this as I like a scout as wingmen so he can paint me the nearest target. As long as you dont fly them yourself, 20 scrap is cost enough ... Smiley
Never noticed getting any scrap from pilots though ... never noticed ...

i dont think empty scouts with a pilot paint targets, only full scouts. (not 100% sure)

edit: must note with that, that I more often play MPI using the Commando B recy, it might be specific to that recy.

and build with out it falling on most maps.

It'll cost 800 scrap to make 40 scavs, an extra 40 for the constructor and 80 for the upgraded base pool (counting scav)...

But if I make 41 scavs, deploy one on a pool and then upgrade it, then my scrap bar (which has a maximum of 60 at this point) will read 200, which is scrap I can use?


Basically, for 920 scrap I can get 200? That's not a good deal.

Maybe he meant let all those scavs fill up and just build to your heart's content.

Good luck finding all the scrap to put in those..

You would have lost the game by the time you would have the 40 scavs build and outside your base ....
Next to that, scavs can hold as much scrap as they cost, so 40scavs do not only cost 800 they also give an additional scrap-reserve of 800 scrap.

Not really cheating though, is it? And you can only build inside the 60 range given to you by the recycler and extractor. No teching for you.

Well, it's by design. Not been working since 1.3, so it's obsolete for now, but that's a moot point. It's meant to be there.
