I actually understand where he's getting at. Except I would take a different step. Wink

Does SAG not realise that extractors and the green bar DONT fill up scavengers, and they only fill up with loose that they gather??

.. er .. you lost me ....  undecided

Scavengers were designed to fill up with scrap they collect. Appel pointed out a while back that this doesn't work in 1.3.

The 'not really cheating' wasn't a reply to you, it was to SAG, pointing out that he hadn't found a scrap cheat, he'd found a design feature that we all knew about anyway.

Its annoying enough having the "Server Changed Map" outputted to there let alone the recycler variant and other options as well...

One thing no one has yet realised is you can actually build a training facility next to your recycler, and build empties instead of normal ones.

You can also keep hopping in and out of an empty outside the training facility, and each time a pilot is built from the facility and 'recycled', they get turned into 5 free scrap.
The "Server changed map" message is only annoying because people tend to scroll maps in order to look for a picture of a map they want to play, causing "Server changed map to ..." to fill the screen. The server map scrolling is more of a frequent problem on big map lists (ie: all ZST map packs together comprise more than 40 maps, G66 maps also are large in number)

With rec variants, this wouldnt be a problem and cause more good than harm.

my record it 100 under my command at once and 300 in a game.
I can build 30 on most maps in the fist 5 mins.
by that point I can build them faster than thay can be killed and the tec tree in under a min.

also scavengers when thay are built if they run into a nother scav they act like the AI scavs and will scout out pools and deploy with out orders.

Behold The Power Of Scrap. If it works in-game, it doesn't matter how wierd and broken it looks code wise.
what is not broken around here?

Congrats on building many more scavs than you need vs an AI.

I build 100 of the hovering variant in SRV and killed Steeveeo's base because of the enhanced death explosions in that mod.

Any other specific issues we can look at fixing?

30 scavs in a strat? No way. The opponent would starve you out.

SAG a lot of players can reach chain gun turrets and laser scouts by 5 minutes, which is far more impressive and dangerous than 30 scavengers. You don't really need more than 8-10, ever, there just isn't that much loose on a map in Strat, or hell MPI for that matter.

Well, it "works" in 1.3, but the visual indicator is just gone.

This discussion is laughable really. Making 30 scavs? Non-sense. Someone clearly skipped the class on Scrap-Management-In-BZ2.

The aim of the game is to win the opponent, and you can do that more easily by having advanced units and weapons (sabres or chain). So, you NEED to build up your base, advance the tech tree. You don't do that while you're pumping out 30 scavs, LOL.

Good scrap-management is more about good timing than it is about making whole lot of scavs and hope for the best.
With just 1-2 scavengers you can do more than with 10 scavengers! You have to use it right. Here's a tactic I sometimes use (even on one pool):

1. Upgrade base extractor
2. When scrap-bar reaches 20, build empty-scout. Once it fills up to 20 again, cancel it, and you'll be at 35-40.

With just this you'll be able to build power or turrets if you need more defense. And once you need 55 and 60 for factory and armory, then do this:
3. Build 2 scavengers, keep them on the rec pad (using hold). Then do #2. Then recycle the scavengers, and your scrap-bar jumps to 55-60, sufficient for either factory or armory.

So, with just 1 pool, 3-4 recycled scavengers, you can out-tech your opponent much quicker. By the time you have a full base up, the other guy is still making his 15th or 20th scavenger.

In short, KNOW THE SCRAPBAR and the techniques you can use to make it go up!!

There are like 5 mistakes in this reply and 10 unnecessary things to say, so plz try not to fail so hard in the future and now delete the post and go hide your face.

You dont ever need more than 8-10 scavs - is wrong.
The build-speed aint being measured in when people can have chain turrets or laser scouts, but how fast they can reach an armory or a tech centre. Armory can be built in 2:30 on quarry without oponents, and faster if there are some. You might want to know that even this detail does not even matter, because the build-speed of a certain commander is solely depending on a in-game situation which means that it cant be specified by time only.

Now you might ask yourself why am I actually commenting this, the answer to this question is a pretty simple one: I comment your posts, because i  dont get why the feck you are still bothering to post such stuff when you are simply misleading others by telling them either a.) unnecessary things or b.) wrong things.

Have a nice day, kind madam.

!guana's main points:

Chaingun turrets are useless. Do not build base defense quickly since rec rushes never happen.
Laser scouts are useless against other scouts, especially when you try to get them out before the enemy gets shads.
30 scavs are better than 10 and if the rec pad is ever sitting around doing nothing it should be building scavs, not pods.

-that's how I interpereted it. Enjoy what remains of your day, or at least try to considering the bitterness.
