After writing a review of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which I am more than happy to send to someone to read, the question occured, has Disney gotten worse and worse over the years? they're early stuff was decent, watchable, even entertaining. But ever since Micheal Eisner {shudders at the name} took over, I feel they're material has gotten darker {yes, hard to believe}, more poorly written, and much more liberal. Since 2000, They're movies seem to be getting worse and worse, with each one having a weaker story and more bathroom and childish humor with each passing scene and year. I also feel that they have become a form of brainwashing unit for the Liberal party, trying to manipulate kids to recycle by showing them innocent polar bears floating on the arctic sea. Show that bear tearing a photographer or seal to part, don't count on them showing that. I don't know is it me? Is Disney really becoming the laughing stock of the film industry?
Et Toi?

The same way that Snow White eating an apple was Disney's attempt at telling kids that eating fruit is bad.

Lol. And yes. Disney = dead. It has become just another tool of the media's war against human intelligence.

And judging by the intelligence of some of my friends {not you guys} it seems to be working. Either that, or its because Americans are just getting stupider by the year.

Nielk1 has been telling me a few things lately on the fact that the IQ of the US has been dropping these past few years. So, I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.
The government is already invading our schools. They've been doing that for a while now. (well, our public schools are corrupt as it is, I believe private schools are somewhat better off for the time being) Glenn Beck had a special about indoctrinating our kids through school and all that.
Ok, to the topic at hand, I've liked the earlier Disney stuff when Mickey Mouse was still very popular. I've come to appreciate some of the stuff done back in the '70's and '80's. Disney was awesome back then. But now, I agree.. a lot of what they're putting out (though I've not really seen them myself) I wouldn't want to be showing to my kids (if I had any), including my half sister.

TR2N ftw! Hope that won't suck. It better live up to the original, as I've been waiting for this sequel for 3 decades. New trailer up, haven't seen it yet, but I hear it's good (the trailer that is). I also hear the movie might incorporate some aspects from Tron 2.0, dunno. Maybe Jeff will sing in this one too.

I saw that trailer, it does look awesome To be honest though, disney is no good anymore. It was awesome back in the day with cartoon animations, but seems to me they are getting way too much work out of Pixar and CGI now, its no fun to watch, it lacks all the grityness.

According to my Gov't prof: "Glenn Beck is a true idiot of our time" ---- Disney's bastardization of all the (former) greatest actors in the world is very very sad indeed. I'm not going to point them out since they are very obvious... The Tooth Fairy...

Having read the first post I am tempted to point out that there's nothing wrong with the Liberal party, but that would be stupid in a forum populated with Americans, whose political climate is vastly different from ours here in the UK.
We have Conservatives and Labour, for those who don't know, and it's always one of them who gets control. The third major party is the Liberal Democrats, who never get in, but considering how badly Labour have screwed us over and how much everybody hates the Tories, the Liberals are looking more likely.

I've refrained from continuing with the discussion due to the fact that it's really not the point of this topic, which is why I haven't continued, and I still won't unless it's in a new topic.
But anyway, I haven't seen much of Disney's latest stuff. I do agree that its more of Pixar doing the stuff now, but a couple years ago, they did bring out Ponyo. I don't know what its about entirely, I wasn't expecting it to be an anime either (and its from Miyazaki no less), so that's something a bit different. Other than that, stuff like Up, or Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (I think this is actually not related to Disney/Pixar, but do correct me if I am wrong on that), and any other 3D animated movies haven't interested me. Maybe its the fact I'm 19 and lost most of my childhood ways, but it may be something else entirely. Could be also something personal that happened when I was a kid that did it, who knows... But Disney seems to have lost its touch over the last years and all that.

And you've just reminded me, look for the references to communism in The Lion King.
I'll start you off with the hammer and sickle in the sky above Scar.
