2 pound memory would probably snap my slots off the board. Bazinga.

The assembly part is definitely fun but some manufacturers like making things tougher. IO panel assembly can really suck if those tabs get stuck in the wrong places.

Laptop used to seem like a waste to me, but I see the benefit when going to University, definitely. I can't see myself doing all PC related work stuck in a box. But my gaming rig will be in that box with its blu ray drive and 5.1, so what can I say  grin

If you want to know the steps to building your own pc, here you go in 10 easy steps:

1: Check parts
2: Buy parts
3: Wait 3 days for them to arrive/collect them yourself the same day
4: Assemble it
5: Set up bios.
6: Install software
7: Set up Inet
8: Download and install the latest drivers
9: Install x/Have fun
10: Have more fun

Thats my 10-step program so far. (I've build 2 of my own systems, and in the last 3 or so years ~20 PCs for people I know.)
The only issue I ever had was them shipping orders incomplete but that in general just means I cancel that part and pick it up at a local store for a bit higher price (the choice: wait another 3 days, or pay an extra ~€10,-).

My early systems had the issue of having the PSU die on them after about a year, but since I somewhat 'overdo' them it is one of those parts that basicly doesnt age (you may want a heavier CPU 2 years after building a PC, but the PSU is still pretty much as it was 2 years ago).

WHAT?!? that's what cell phones are for... when cell phones are as powerful as netbooks, you shouldn't have a problem using the phone, because of it's smaller size...

I have a Sony Ericsson K800i. And I bloody love it. 4 years old and it still works despite falling 30 feet onto concrete (don't ask) and falling, on, in the bath.

It ain't gonna do facebook. WAP ftw.

There's no way facebook on a cell phone is comparable to facebook on a computer.

Also, remember: data plans. I'm not paying for a data plan for my cell phone, nor am I about to shell out $200 for a smartphone. No way.

Then there's the very strong argument that a computer is easier to use discreetly than a cell phone is. With a computer, you could very well be "taking notes," but who takes notes on their cell phone?
